Who are Elev8 Youth?

Elev8 Youth is dedicated to supporting local communities across the UK, particularly children, by fundraising and backing charities focused on education, skill development, and sports. We have our own in-house education program to support all age groups of children. Our efforts aim to equip the younger generation with essential tools and knowledge for success in their personal and professional lives, fostering a more educated and skilled community.

Primary Supporters

Our primary supporters are members of the local public, including individuals, families, and businesses who are committed to supporting the growth and development of the youth in our community. We also engage with local schools, community centres, and other organisations that share our vision of empowering the next generation through education and skill-building.

By fostering a strong network of community support and continuously seeking innovative fundraising opportunities, Elev8 Youth aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive.

Top 10 Statistics for Children Under 16

Around 4.2 million children in the UK live in poverty, equating to nearly 30% of all children. This means nearly 1 in 3 children are growing up in poverty, with the majority living in working households.

By the end of secondary school, disadvantaged pupils are on average 18.1 months behind their peers in terms of academic attainment. This gap increases as they progress through school, contributing to long-term disparities in education and career opportunities.

Approximately 14% of children in the UK live in households with moderate or severe food insecurity. This means they may not have regular access to nutritious food, affecting their physical and mental health.

Children from low-income families are more likely to suffer from poor health. 40% of children in the most deprived areas are overweight or obese by the time they leave primary school, compared to 27% in the least deprived areas.

Children from poorer backgrounds are far less likely to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, or music. Only 20% of children from disadvantaged households regularly take part in extracurricular activities, compared to 49% of their more affluent peers.

Children from the poorest 20% of households are four times more likely to develop serious mental health problems compared to those from the wealthiest 20%. This highlights the urgent need for mental health support services targeted at disadvantaged youth.

Nearly 9% of children in the UK do not have access to a laptop, desktop, or tablet at home, limiting their ability to participate in online learning and further widening the educational gap, especially during school closures or remote learning periods.

Over 120,000 children in the UK are living in temporary accommodation due to homelessness, often in poor conditions. These children face significant disruptions to their education, well-being, and future prospects.

Only 26% of children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds progress to higher education by age 19, compared to 45% of all children. This reflects a major barrier to upward social mobility and a critical area where targeted interventions can help.

Disadvantaged children are less likely to access high-quality early childhood education, which is crucial for cognitive and social development. Research shows that investing in early years education can improve long-term outcomes for these children, but nearly 1 in 3 disadvantaged children are missing out on high-quality preschool education.
